Big Lessons in Small Matters

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. – Proverbs 16:9

When I first entered polytechnic in April 2018, I was really uncertain how I could share the Good News with others. I thought I had to first relate well with people I did not know. However, God amazed me. It did not take long for me to establish good relationship with a group of friends. That meant I was one step closer to sharing Christ with them.

I did not usually bring up the topic of religion in my conversations with my new friends but God surprised me – they asked me first about Christianity, showing interest to know more. Whenever they raised a question or made a comment, I took the opportunity to share more about my faith in Christ, knowing that those moments came by the divine appointment of God. Even though my friends are still not keen to go to church with me, I am trusting God that the right moment will come. As of now I will take every occasion to share a little more about my Saviour.

Through this journey of learning to share the gospel with my friends, I am reminded of God’s providence. When I rely on myself and then get disappointed when things do not go my way, I must remember that God knows best. This is something I learnt from Proverbs 16:9.
