Dear friend,
Though they come from all walks of life, our volunteers share the same passion of reaching young people for Jesus Christ. They plan outreach events with our staff, lead small groups and journey with youth in growing their gospel understanding. They do what they can so that more young people can hear the gospel. Their sacrificial love for the young ones is a wonderful encouragement and reflection of their love for our God.
This year, we celebrate our volunteers. Let us take some time to hear their aspirations and catch a glimpse of what motivates them to give of themselves sacrificially.
In the Polytechnic Ministry, Alex Yan hopes that young people will discover how magnificent God is and put their trust in Him who never fails. Marcus Hong, who started volunteering in Polytechnic Ministry since 2016, desires to see youth growing in their faith and knowing Christ as the true and living God. He continues to serve in obedience to God’s call all these years and finds encouragement through personal devotions and sermons to help him persevere in the work.
Khor Jun Wei, a university student volunteering with the Secondary School and Junior College Ministry, hopes that students will remember their Creator. He wants them to know that they are precious in God’s eyes, and that only He, not games, grades, or social media, can truly satisfy.
In the Youth Guidance Ministry, Derick Loh shares his desire to remind youth that they do not need to be perfect to receive God’s love. God is always ready, with open arms, to welcome and rescue them from their situations. He hopes to inspire these youths, in turn, to serve others so that more may hear about the hope found in Christ. Patrick Yeo, from the same ministry, who has faithfully served underprivileged youths for the past ten years, shares that he presses on because he knows God’s call and purpose for his life, choosing to stay focused on fulfilling the work God has entrusted to him.
In the International Students Ministry, Joash Lim hopes that students will remember their time in SYFC, so that they will continue to serve their own communities when they return home.
Thank God for our volunteers and His sustaining grace in each of their lives. Their partnership has allowed us to extend our reach into more and different places, and touch lives in more and different ways. We praise God for each of them and for the eternal impact of their ministry in the lives of young people.
All Glory To God,

Richard Tan
