Dear friend,
During the recent SYFC planning retreat, ministry leaders came together and evaluated our effectiveness in reaching today’s youth. We concluded that in order for us to be effective in our outreach, there should be growth in the breadth of our work, in terms of reaching different types of and more young people; and also growth in the depth of our conversation and relationship with students.
First, we want to grow in reaching different types of youth. Different ministries defined the types of students they hope to reach differently. For instance, the Secondary School and Junior College Ministry defined it according to its students’ interests and wants to pour more resources to reach students who are sporty and who play online games. The ITE ministry differentiated its students according to their academic strengths and weaknesses and hopes to reach those who are working towards going to a polytechnic. The Preteens Ministry (PTM) identified students in the Special Education (SPED) schools as a new type of youth it hopes to reach next year. Please pray for us for the Lord’s enablement.
Second, we want to share to more youth. In order to be able to come into contact with more young people, Evolving and Digital Generation Evangelism (EDGE) and PTM are looking to collaborate with more agencies. Please pray for us to find favour with like-minded partners.
Finally, we want to have deeper engagement with youth. Having deeper engagement with students includes strengthening our ability to converse with students over issues that are pertinent to them over a long period of time. Hopefully, this will lead to greater trust between the young people and us and allows us the opportunity to share the gospel with them or encourage them in their growth in the Lord. Youth Guidance Ministry hopes to build its Christian students’ conviction in the gospel work so that they will consider volunteering in the ministry. International Students Ministry wants to strengthen its follow-up work by conducting more bible study sessions and events to reinforce the gospel message. Please pray for us to find favour with the young people.
Growing in our outreach to more and different types of youth and in depth with them willbe our focus for the next three years. We entrust these plans to your prayers and look forward to your co-labouring in the gospel work in the year ahead.
A blessed Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family in advance.
All Glory To God,

P.S. Thank you for reading and responding to my September Communique. I am so blessed by your love and support for the staff. As the year comes to an end, I would like to make a special appeal to you to consider giving to the staff’s 13th month salary. Many of you have responded generously to this appeal before and we look to God once again to provide the bonus through you. Thank you for your kind consideration of this request.
