Dear friend,

We are grateful to God for the many opportunities He had given us last Christmas to reach out to young people with the gospel. Here I would like to share with you some of the encouraging moments from the different events.

ITE (Institute of Technical Education) Ministry organised a Christmas carnival for 37 students and one of the highlights of the event was the chance for participants to win prizes such as in-game tokens for Mobile Legends (a popular mobile game). Ministry Coordinator Alvin Lim shared that initially the team was a bit concerned about the turnout since many students who joined them for regular gaming sessions were traveling and could not come for the event. However, the Lord surprised them by bringing 17 newcomers whom they had just gotten to know. Two young people expressed their desire to follow Jesus, and nine others expressed interest in learning more about the Christian faith during the event. Thank God for the positive responses to the gospel and the fun time the staff and volunteers had with the students.

Secondary School and Junior College Ministry (SJM) also hosted a Christmas party, bringing their weekly holiday hangouts to a close. One special segment of the event was a ukulele performance where students had the chance to showcase what they had learnt during the weekly sessions. D, one of the performers, is a student that SJM knew four years ago when he came for a post-PSLE programme. Our staff kept up and had gospel conversations with him over the years. During the party, D heard the full gospel and said that he wants to believe in Jesus but he has some questions about God. Thank God D is willing to meet with our staff for Evangelistic Bible Study after the event.

Poly Ministry held its yearly Christmas programme Celebrating Christ which comprised two segments – one for Christians and the other for non-believers. The focus of the first segment this year was on the significance of the three gifts that the Magi presented to Jesus. Christian students were reminded of who Jesus is – their King and High Priest – and what was Jesus’ mission on earth – to die for our sins. During the second segment, they got to share this good news with friends they had invited for baking and chi-chat sessions using the Unfiltered conversation cards that Poly Ministry had developed. Ministry Coordinator Reggie Ng was thankful that many could come despite the holiday season and for the meaningful time they had celebrating Christmas together.

Please pray that the seed planted during this season will grow and bear fruit in these students’ lives and they will come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.

All Glory To God,

Richard Tan
