Dear friend,
The staff team meets every Tuesday and a part of the meeting is spent on studying the Word of God together. This year, we are studying the book of Acts and the intent is to encourage everyone that despite of oppositions, the gospel continues to spread “in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Today, we thank God that the gospel has reached our shores and we now have the privilege of bringing it to people who do not yet know God either locally or overseas.
Even though Singapore Youth for Christ focuses primarily on local outreach to youth, we are also conscious of how blessed we are in resources as compared to our brothers and sisters in some other countries. Therefore, we are also grateful that we can pray, share our resources, and serve with them. Just last month, leaders from a neighbouring country arrived in Singapore to meet with their supporters and raise funds. Our hearts go out to them when we hear their struggles and difficulties in life and ministry. However, we are also encouraged by their continual trust in God’s provision and providence despite challenging times in their country. During their trip, we also discussed how we can support them in their digital outreach. Thank God for the possibility to serve together with them in this area.
Mission trips are a key component in the Project Serve and Grad Serve programmes. For many young people, these may be the first mission trip in their life time and the Project Servants and Grad Servants were always excited to be part of God’s work overseas. These trips also help the youth and our staff to broaden their horizon by serving the nations and witnessing how God is working all over the world.
Other than reaching foreign students overseas, we are now able to reach them in Singapore since many of them are studying in our schools. Not only is the International Students Ministry intentionally reaching out to foreign students, these students are also found in our Secondary School and Junior College Ministry’s Life Groups. It is our prayer that as they are trained in Singapore that they may return to their home countries and be effective witnesses to their communities back home.
The God we serve desires for the Good News to go to the ends of the world, and we at SYFC count it a privilege to be involve in this work of bringing the gospel to young people. Please pray for the staff, volunteers and Christian students to share the gospel faithfully and to look to the Holy Spirit’s empowerment as we do this.
God be our Helper.
All Glory To God,
