The media people from SYFC web have been quiet lately… and many may be wondering why.
Nope, we were not slacking. In fact, the web stooges* have been working hard on a new look for SYFC web 2.0! It is coming within days of this post… so watch for it!
More details and changes will come along, and as the jpg reads, do bear with us as we labor for the sake of the gospel and for those who will visit this website.
*YES! In case you thought gazillions of us run the web, there is really only ONE staff, TWO working volunteers and FEW ad hoc contributors behind this monster. We are always on the lookout for like-minded believers who skilled in web design, illustration, flash/php programming and many other media skills.
Gearing up for PLAYMAX was fun; and as part of publicity to get students interested and itching to come, YG held our very own Minimax! As the children and youth streamed in to play, the staff and project servants were ready and armed at the 4 different stations - Mini Joust, Crazy Cups, Dominos and XBox gaming!
Thank God for the time we had with the students - they had fun trying out the different games, with some even signing up for PLAYMAX on the spot! More signing up to hear the gospel.
After a few days of troubleshooting… we have finally got the video highlights of the Playmax dry run up and running on the SYFC pages! On the actual day, there will be at least three times as many things happening! So what are you waiting for???

yup! it’s THAT time of the year again.. where we all have licence to ‘gorge’ ourselves with that succulent scarlet meat.. BAH-KWA.. those melt-in-your-mouth white cookies (okok i don’t know what they’re called!), those once-you-pop-you-cant-stop pumpkin seeds, those addictive peanuts, ..and yes(!!) time for those all-time-favs.. that gastronomical delight.. pineapple tarts! :D
Project servant Kelly (of the Neo-sisters fame) made sure that every kid had a chance to get their hands on one.. teaching from the basics of how to combine flour (and several secret ingredients) to make the crumble-in-your-mouth dough, and brought ready-made pineapple filling for them to be able to build-their-own-tart for immediate baking! it really was the most fun and engaging learn-to-cook session for the kids! hats off to Kelly!
Thank God for the many blessings He brings through the ministry the PS09 …Project Serve 2009.. has ‘procured’ for us several Project Servants They have certainly been of great help to the team, taking groups of kids - helping them cope with school work, playing with them, teaching character studies and sharing devotions with them. It has been encouraging to see God working in each of the project servants’ lives by the way they have grown in showing love to the kids they are to care for, learning how to manage their behaviours, tantrums and varied responses. I’m sure it has been an amazing journey for each of them, and a mini-lesson in parenting!!! We’ll hear more from them later on..
In the recent November holidays, the Preteens had a fun-taste-tick time at the “I Can!” program! Fun was a key factor of this program, where they got to Taste all kinds of new experiences and acquired the Tick of approval from both parents and the kids themselves! Wow!!! How do i even begin listing aaaallllllllllllll the different things we did??? Badminton, Clay-making, Drawing…We even went horse riding and visited a farm!!!
Thank God for the great turnout! Most of the kids came as a result of the word of mouth: parents told other parents about the program… Fantastic, right? There was a constant stream of opportunities to tell the kids about God - of who He is, what He did and does for us, and how He works. Praise God also for all the helpers, trainers and group facilitators who gave of their time and energy to love and care for the kids. It was certainly not easy managing all the kids during the program, especially for the younger group leaders among us. We are therefore thankful to God for enabling and preserving all the group leaders throughout the program.
With more contacts made during the past holidays, B.A.S.H. will continue to grow in number – that means more kids coming into a deeper and longer relationship with us, which will allow us a greater and more meaningful interaction with them to share who God is. Praise God for His never-ending blessings!
