When I first joined a L.I.F.E. Group in Secondary 3, I learnt the importance of sharing my faith. Since I truly believed Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, I wanted my friends to know Him too.
From SYFC, I learnt different and creative ways to present the gospel and saw that I could share about God in school. Evangelism was no longer as daunting because I could start by simply inviting a friend for a carnival event like PlayMax, or just showing a postcard to explain the true meaning of Christmas.
In Secondary 4, we made scrapbook cards for Valentines’ Day. I did one for a classmate. That evening, my quiet time happened to be 1 John 3. I wrote verse 16 on the card, “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us…”. When I gave the card to her, I had the chance to explain the greatest love shown to us by Jesus’ death on the cross.
As I got busier in my studies, I continued to create and seize opportunities to talk with my friends about the Lord. It became easier the more I did it. Though most did not respond in faith immediately, I thank God I could tell them the source of my joy and peace. Eventually some accepted Christ and I was encouraged to never stop sharing my faith.
